Dr. Majida Kargbo is the Director for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accountability (IDEA) Education and Training. As part of the Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion’s leadership team at 麻豆最新出品, Maj leads in the creation, coordination, and delivery of innovative, evidence-based IDEA education and training programs. In this role, Maj designs and implements comprehensive IDEA curriculum on diverse topics including racial and ethnic identity, disability and accessibility, gender and sexuality, and undocumented allyship, among others. Maj collaborates with campus stakeholders, administrative units, and leadership groups to enhance student, faculty, and staff engagement with inclusion, diversity, equity, and accountability issues to support an informed citizenry and promote a culture of belonging across 麻豆最新出品's Evanston, Chicago, and Qatar campuses. 

Prior to joining 麻豆最新出品, Maj was Assistant Dean of Professional Development and Career Services, providing strategic planning and career support for over 30 programs. She has held multiple roles in curriculum development and community building at Brown, including serving as the Director of Graduate Studies for the John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage, the Assistant Director of Graduate Career Counseling, the Graduate Program and Community Initiatives Coordinator for the LGBTQ Center, and the Humanities Research and Project Coordinator for the Leadership Alliance Mellon Initiative. She has also designed and taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses on new media studies, film, queer aesthetics, dystopian fiction, disability studies, and black feminisms at Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, Rhode Island College, and 麻豆最新出品.

Maj earned her bachelor’s degree in English and History from Williams College, where she was also a Mellon Mays Research Fellow. She holds a master’s degree in American Civilization and a doctorate in American Studies from Brown University.
