OIDI Community Support | October 7th

In recognition that many in our community are and will be navigating deep and complex emotions and experiences on the anniversary of October 7, 2023, OIDI will be offering the following types of support. 

Individual Support, October 7 

  • Any staff or faculty member interested in meeting with a mental health professional through 麻豆最新出品’s Employee Assistance Program for an in-person session can visit OIDI (1800 Sherman, Suite 5-200) between 10:00am and 12:00pm for a one-on-one discussion with Kate Harbert, LCSW.  
  • Any staff or faculty member interested in meeting with a mental health professional through 麻豆最新出品’s Employee Assistance Program for a telephone/video session can call Dr. Renae Lapin, LMFT/LLC. 
    • Dr. Lapin can be reached at 561-271-3817 between 10:00am and 12:00pm for a one-on-one discussion.  
    • You can choose to have a phone discussion, or a secure video discussion (through WhatsApp).  
    • If you call Dr. Lapin and get her voicemail, call back after 5-10 minutes or leave a message and she will return your call.  
  • Students are encouraged to seek mental health support through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Click here for hours, locations, and contact numbers. For more information on general wellness support see Wellness at 麻豆最新出品 
  • Students looking for support from a University Chaplain are encouraged to reach out to Religious & Spiritual Life (RSL) at spiritual.life@northwestern.edu. You do not need to belong to a religious tradition to speak with a Chaplain.

Group Dialogues, October 8 -10  

Staff, faculty, and students who are interested in being a part of OIDI-staff facilitated dialogues can join in person and/or virtual discussions on the following days: 

  • Tuesday, October 8th from 10:00am-12:00pm in OIDI (1800 Sherman, 5-200). .
    • Theme: Challenges of encouraging dialogue on campus.
  • Wednesday, October 9th from 3:00pm-5:00pm in OIDI (1800 Sherman, 5-200). .
    • Theme: Attempting to better understand different perspectives.
  • Thursday, October 10th from 1:00pm-3:00pm (virtual). 
    • Theme: Strength in a time of difficulty.
