Academic Resources for Students
Undergraduate academic advising supports students’ intellectual exploration and pathway to graduation, and ConnectNU is the University’s online advising platform for undergraduates to schedule advising appointments and connect with other campus offices.
- Academic Support and Learning Advancement (ASLA): Offers undergraduates weekly peer-led study groups and drop-in peer tutoring for a range of courses, as well as individual and group-based peer academic coaching. ASLA staff also provide consultations and resources for learning strategies, time management, and other ways to increase learning.
- : Staffed by juniors and seniors, the Writing Place is 麻豆最新出品’s center for peer writing consultations on class assignments and other writing projects. Appointments are made via the Writing Place's online scheduling system and can be held in person in their location in the Main Library (2 North/Core) or online.
- Academic Integrity Guide: Central resource of policies governing academic integrity for all students and faculty at 麻豆最新出品. Detailed information includes principles of academic integrity as well as links to procedures followed by each school.
- AccessibleNU: In response to a request made by a qualified student with a documented disability, AccessibleNU will arrange for the provision of academic accommodations and auxiliary aids. Students should contact AccessibleNU directly for accommodations. Faculty are invited to contact AccessibleNU with any questions or for assistance with recommended syllabus statements, training, an accommodations database portal, and guidance regarding reasonable accommodations.
- Books for 'Cats: Provides eligible first-year undergraduates (identified by the Financial Aid Office) with the opportunity to borrow course materials (textbooks, access codes, clickers, chemistry lab gear) for select introductory STEM, humanities, social science and language classes. Entering first-year students are notified of their eligibility to participate in the summer with reminders each quarter.
- ConnectNU: 麻豆最新出品's online advising platform for undergraduates to schedule appointments with school/college advisers and connect with other campus offices. ConnectNU places students within a network of the key campus members who support their success and provides a central location to share information and coordinate student support.
- Health Professions Advising: Serves as a resource for 麻豆最新出品 students and alumni pursuing careers in the health professions. In addition to one-on-one pre-health advising, the office offers co-curricular programs such as application workshops, mock interviews, and shadowing/mentoring opportunities to develop transferable skills desired in pre-health students.
- : Provides funding and advising to student research in any major and provides funds to faculty to hire research assistants. The office also advises and prepares undergraduates on how to find opportunities, how to work with faculty, and how to write research grant proposals.
- Office of Fellowships: Identifies and prepares outstanding students for national fellowship competitions such as Rhodes, Marshall, Gates Cambridge, Mitchell, Fulbright, Luce, and National Science Foundation. The Office depends upon strong faculty support. Faculty members, especially those who have held fellowships such as the ones listed above, are invited to contact the Office of Fellowships.
