The is an integral part of law school admission in the United States, Canada, and a growing number of other countries. The test is designed specifically to assess key skills needed for success in law school, including reading comprehension, analytical reasoning, and logical reasoning.

Please note, around ½ of the ABA accredited law schools now accept the GRE for admission. However, The LSAT is the only test accepted for admission purposes by all ABA-accredited law schools and Canadian common-law law schools.

LSAC offers some free resources including a free practice test and fee waiver opportunities with some private test preparation companies.
NU Library Test & Education Resource Center offers free resources and they also have a number of print volumes on permanent reserve. To find these, go to the advanced search on and click on the “course reserve” button, and then do a keyword search for “lsat”.
